Empowering Young Voices

At Peel Arts & Health, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to share their story and advocate for their health. Our free programs focus on providing the necessary skills for BAC youth to navigate healthcare environments with confidence. Through workshops and drop-in sessions that are built on the principles of storytelling and narrative medicine, we create a safe space for youth to discuss their experiences and learn to advocate for themselves in medical contexts. Join us in our mission to empower young voices in the Peel region.

"Patients who become knowledgeable about how narrative works can contribute to enhancing the quality of their care in various ways, from becoming advocates for themselves to becoming better listeners to their caregivers and ultimately better collaborators with them.”

James Phelan, Narrative Medicine: A Rhetorical Rx
